Summer is a notoriously busy time for daily deals, especially with the ladies who like to get a tan, laser hair removal, whiten their teeth in preparation for the perfect summer holiday. We have compiled some interesting summer trends based on Deal Zippy data from daily deals in the UK over June & July 2011.
Health & Beauty – Deal Zippy Data
- 39% of daily deals in June and July were health and beauty deals
- The biggest discounted deals were for IPL laser hair removal
- Laser hair removal discounts ranged between 89-96% off the original price
- KGB deals topped the charts with the best selling most heavily discounted deal offering laser hair removal from The Harley Street Clinic for £119 instead of £3050, saving users 96% off the original price and selling a total of 546
- Groupon had the most popular health and beauty deal selling 7495 home teeth whitening kits for £24 instead of £99 saving consumers a grand total of £562,125.00
30% of all daily deals offered in the UK in June and July were in London, outlining how large the London market is when compared with other cities. National deals account for 15% of all deals.
Popular Deals
14% of all daily deals sold in this period were for the top 10 selling deals, 9 of the 10 were national deals available online to users across the UK.
